Garlic Mite, Aceria tulipae (Acarida: Eriophyidae): A Review

چکیده

Garlic (Allium sativum), belonging to the family Amarylidaceae, is a bulbous plant which widely used as condiment for its pungent flavour. India holds second position in garlic production after China. It attacked by many insect pests. The most hazardous pest mite (Aceria tulipae). This also known dry bulb or onion mite. attacks both field and storage condition. In condition typical pig tail appearance seen infected plants. reddish brown spots appear on cloves due feeding of this article accrued different aspects Aceria tulipae, viz., host range specificity, invasive history distribution, morphology, taxonomic confusion, dispersal, biology relationship with abiotic factors, population dynamics, damage symptoms management.
